Four good sites

Okay so here it is.

After pulling my hair out for several days looking for good web applications I found these web sites.

ActiveDen http://www.flashden.net/ and

Flash Creations http://www.flashcreations.net/UG/UltimateGallery.html

Now I know there are hundreds of sites that have Flash components that you can download either for free or for a small price. But I like these two because their applications kept showing up again and again at two more of my favorite sites, Download.com www.download.com and Adobe Exchange http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/

These sites have already done the work for me in checking out, reviewing, testing and rating web applications. Still, there were a lot for me to try for myself even after all the weeding out. (See previous post).

I love plug ins, widgets and all sorts of downloads. I love when someone else does the work for me regarding web applications and I can just download them, tweak them and pop them in. I do most of the work on my sites myself. I’m a control freak in that way but I am DD when it comes to Flash. So why not let someone else have the fun of creating wild and wonderful apps for me to use?

If you think this is cheating think about what it would be like to make your own paint or spin and dye your own yarn. No thanks. My condo association doesn’t allow sheep.

As for price, the apps and widgets vary from inexpensive to cheap to free. I found wonderful apps for $8, $4, and I even found one for $1. This is because there is no overhead: no packaging, no warehouse costs. Of course some are a whopping $29.95. But they are well worth it in my book.

I suggest if you like to work on your own site as I do, check out Flash Den and Flash Creations. Just a warning. You might wind up spending hours just looking at all the fun stuff.
