Kudos for my teachers

Congratulations to my former art teacher, Will Eisner for his new movie, The Spirit. Albeit it’s a little late. He’s dead. Will, who hated my art, was a cool guy at whose feet I sat in reverent awe.

Congrats and kudos also go out to a teacher in whom I am even in more awe, Art Spiegelman who is famous for his Pulitzer prize winning graphic story, Maus.

While we are at it, a third art teacher, Marshall Arisman deserves a nod from me. Sorry I went to sleep in your class. It wasn’t you.

The workload in art school is just as grueling as in every other school or college. For those of you who think we have a leisurely and fun time sitting around drawing cartoons in art school, think again. Working on a portfolio at 1:00 in the morning can be a bitch.
