Yeah, Right

The other day I came across a band with the name “Albino”.

There are no people with albinism in the band as far as I know. There have been several attempts to name products “albino” including one band called The Fat Black Albinos, and a brand of malt liquor called Albino. Frank Perdue even tried to make fun of albino chickens.  The list goes on and on.

I decided to write and ask why they chose that name. This is the answer I got:

“We chose the name because albinism is a unique condition that effects every race and culture. It does not discriminate. We identify with the name because of these attributes. I do understand that this can be perceived differently but that’s not our intention.”

Yeah, right. Whatever.

Maybe after going to my Golden Child website they thought it would serve them to think up a politically correct answer. Hey. I am not about to go ballistic on them or anything.  After all, the Redskins still use their name, don’t they?

I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe that IS the reason they chose the name. Or maybe they just thought it was cool.

Like I said, whatever.
